Getting the Most Out of Your Watery Deluxe Ice Bath

If you're new to ice bathing, it's crucial to start slowly and make sure you're doing it correctly. Begin by filling your Deluxe ice bath with water (and optional ice cubes) to a temperature of about 10–15 degrees Celsius. Start with short sessions of 1–3 minutes.
As your body adapts to the cold, you can gradually decrease the temperature and extend the duration.

Always listen to your body – it should feel challenging, but never uncomfortable. If it does, stop and try a slightly warmer water temperature. 

A good rule of thumb for beginners is: The colder the water, the shorter the time. (And at low temperatures, remember to wear protective gear on your hands and feet to avoid frostbite. We recommend using our neoprene set)

Warnings and Precautions for Using the Deluxe Ice Bath

Avoid using the ice bath if you are pregnant, have a history of heart conditions or high blood pressure, diabetes, neuropathy or retinal issues, use a pacemaker, have a history of frostbite, have open wounds, recently undergone surgery, suffer from epilepsy, or have other health concerns or risk factors.

Children are especially sensitive to extreme temperatures, and it’s always recommended to supervise children in the ice bath.

Exposure to cold water decreases core body temperature, causing blood vessels to constrict, which reduces blood flow. Combined with existing health issues, this can increase blood pressure and the risk of heart attack or stroke.
