Rendered in the most sumptuous shades of pink, lilac, yellow, burgundy, blue and green, in a bold wildflower pattern, set against a cream background, this original 1930's silk chiffon dress, is the perfect piece for your vintage collection.  

The notched V shaped neckline, is framed by gathered smocking stitches along each yoke, from which the silk chiffon drapes in pleats along the bust-line and décolletage, drawing the eye to the cross over design of the bodice. The elegant shoulder line, is accented by gathered pleats which radiate along the front of each yoke, drawing the eye to the elegant petal cut short length sleeves. The fitted cut of the bodice, boasts a fully pleated cross over design, which frames the central fitted waistline, accented by a central pleated waist sash. The elegant full circle bias cut of the skirt-line, drapes along the silhouette to a Ballerina length, completing this piece is an iconic and timeless silhouette.

 This dress is slightly sheer and may need to be worn with a slip to conceal ones' modesty.

Fastenings: This dress fastens along the side seam with a 12.5 inch metal zip. 

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. Very gentle yellowing to the silk chiffon along the armpit areas. A small darn along the front left hand side of the skirt-line just below the waistline, with two more positioned further along. A scattering of very small pin holes along the front left hand side of the skirt-line below the waistline area. There is a larger water mark along the front left hand side of the skirt-line, this is well concealed by the drape of the silk chiffon and wildflower print. A small sympathetic darn along the centre front of the skirt line and knee level. A light scattering of pin sized age marks along the skirt-line, these are small and well concealed within the floral print and drape of the silk chiffon. A small mend to the silk chiffon along the back right hand side of the bodice near the side seam. A small and gentle age mark beneath the waistline along the back of the dress. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn as they are well concealed within the drape and design of the dress.
