This magnificent 1940's straw halo hat, constructed on a moss green straw base, in a decorative woven straw design, embellished with lilac millinery flowers, is the most perfect statement piece to add to your millinery collection.

The open crown design of the hat, is embellished with moss green faille silk ribbon, which contours the raised crown area, with two bows along the front and a single bow along the back. The front of the hat features bunches of stylised green rayon flower stems which are woven into each bow. The elegant wide brim of the hat is embellished with trailing lilac millinery flowers in graduating shades of lilac, accented by woven pink buds and small green millinery leaves and finished with silver rhinestones scattered amongst the flowers. The brim of the hat features an internal faille silk ribbon along the underside and matching ribbon along the base of the open crown. The hat is finished with two faille ribbons linked together with looped elastic to aid in the wearability of this piece. 

We recommend the use of a hat pin when wearing this hat to add to the stability of the piece when worn.

Condition: In good vintage condition. Gentle scattered age marks within the millinery flowers, this is not apparent when the hat is being worn and only noticeable upon close inspection. Wear to the edges of the straw along the open crown, one of the sides of the crown appears a little taller than the other. Wear to the straw along the edges of the brim, where the straw has become a little more fragile. This piece should be worn with great care as the straw shows signs of its age. Makeup marks along the internal faille silk ribbon along the base of the open crown. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition.
