About WOW's Signature Competitor Saddles

WOW's Signature Competitor range of saddles are sold as complete saddles (seat, flaps, panels) with pre-set leather, stitching, and infill designs. All parts are fully modular, allowing you to change the flap angle relative to the seat and remove/replace all parts as needed. The Signature Competitor range is WOW's mid-range line of fully-modular saddles and represents WOW's take on the best combinations of design, style and look.

The saddles have a fixed design in either black or brown padded, aniline, Frenched-leather in combination with same-color Carbon Fiber infills and facings and same-color Pig-Print Butt (grain) leather wear strips. While the colors and leather types are fixed, there is a total choice of variants for length and angle of flap, seat design and panel design. Limited options and additions are available at additional cost.

Signature Competitor Saddles are always either:

Grey/Silver stitching on Black leather, with Black Pig Print Butt leather wear strip and Black Carbon Fiber seat facings, flap and skirt infills, and block fronts, when the style suits them.

Rust stitching on Brown leather, with Brown Pig Print Butt leather wear strip and Brown Carbon Fiber seat facings, flap and skirt infills and block fronts when the style suits them.

In either case, the Flap stitching pattern used is always WOW's ‘Swirl’ pattern.

Dee rings are single front, silver.

Under-Flap Knee Rolls (UFKR, or 'banana blocks') are included with all saddles.

Signature Competitor Saddles are sold with panels upgraded to Flair for you by Delfina Saddlery. Wool, Foam, and Flair MKII panels are also available. You may order Extended Forward (+2") or Short (-1") panels, and any combination of the above is available in a BBS version, too. BBS - which stands for Big Bearing Surface - offers the largest surface area:horse contact ratio of any English saddle on the market, rivaling the surface area provided by Western saddles. The BBS Panel was developed as a solution for riders who suffer from hip and/or seat pain and riders who struggle to perform hip abduction, but they have proven to be greatly preferred by horses around the world. BBS Panels are a great idea if your horse has a short back, if you are ordering Short (-1") panels, if your horse suffers from back pain, or if you suffer from seat, leg or hip pain.

Signature Competitor Saddles share the same tree as traditional WOW Saddles, which offers:

• WOW's patented 'Y' Shaped Tree, which eliminates traditional saddle tree points
• Lateral Flexibility, to help rotate the front of the saddle away from the horse's scapulae as they move
• Longitudinal Rigidity, to prevent uneven pressure distribution across the horse's back
• Pointless Panel System (PPS), which turned the front of the tree into a lobe
• Double Stirrup Bar, so you can find the perfect position for your leg
• Third Stirrup Option, located at the center of the saddle tree - perfect for long-legged riders, riders who like to ride very straight, and riders with long femurs
• Seat Bone Shims (SBS), to correct rider asymmetry
  
• Largest range of headplate on the market, with 21 total widths
• 3 Headplate Profiles to accommodate everything from rail-thin to almost completely flat
• Modular Saddles, allowing you to change out parts as your horse changes shape, develops muscle, goes through rehab, or ages
• 11+ Girthing setups, including a Foregirth, Point Strap, and Back Balance Strap option

Photos

While we have done our best to find photos of each saddle in the relevant model line, occasionally we have used photos of the same flap in an upgraded model line (Signature, Custom, DMK, etc.). If you see a photo of a saddle in the Standard Competitor line that has multiple leather types/colors, different stitch patterns, or other options not available on Standard Competitor saddles, it is likely from an upgraded model line; however, the overall flap & seat design is identical to the saddle listed.

Other WOW Saddle Lines

If having a fully-modular saddle is important to you and customizing it to your exact personal style and tastes is not important to you but you still want your saddle to be a little 'dressed up', the Signature Competitor line is a great mid-level range of WOW's modular saddles. The Standard Competitor line is one step down whilst still retaining full modularity, and features a simpler design aesthetic. If customization is important to you, consider building your own custom WOW Saddle, or stepping back a few levels to WOW's DMK line, which allows limited customization options in exchange for not being fully modular.

What Delfina Saddlery Includes

Two headplates, a set of stirrup leathers, and a vegan FreeSpace Girth (or other girth, if required) of your choice are included in our Signature Competitor Saddle packages.

About the Signature Competitor Continental + Calf-Block (CB) Jumping Saddle

The Continental + Calf-Block Jumping Saddle offers all the same features as the Continental, but with a large, fixed Calf-Block on the flap. Popular amongst Show Jumpers, Pony Clubbers, and riding schools, the generously padded knee roll, calf block, included Under Flap Knee Roll (UFKR) - or “Banana” – and included Under Flap Calf Block (UFCB) provide a ton of support to the rider’s leg and really locks it in the correct place against the horse. The padded, Frenched-leather flaps give a cushioned, grippy feel perfect for riders learning to jump or doing tricky jumping rounds at speed.

There is a large selection of movable blocks, so you can go very minimal or really big depending on your preferences.

The Signature Competitor Continental + CB Jumping Saddle is offered in full sizes from 16" (#0) - 19" (#3).
