Eugène is the perfect pattern for a backpack or shoulder bag, for everyday use or for all your activities and those of your family.

Design features:

Fully lined. Clever interior storage including a padded pocket for tablet or laptop. Lined, zippered front pocket and elasticated side pocket for water bottle. Wide zipped opening for optimal convenience. Handles for carrying by hand, adjustable back straps and/or shoulder straps.

Fabric suggestions:

OUTER

• Medium to heavyweight 250-400g/m2 woven fabrics, such as canvas, gabardine, bachette, denim, corduroy, waxed canvas, quilted fabric, fake leather or leather.
• Thinner woven fabrics such as waffle, linen or ribstop (nylon parachute fabric) for a "soft bag" effect or to be lined with thick wadding.

LINING: Cotton poplin, chambray or thin polyester fabric.

WADDING: Thick or thin, depending on the desired effect, fusible or not and optional Style-Vil foamed interlining from Vlieseline for the back and tablet/laptop pocket.

• Wadding (basic or type H630 or H640 from Vlieseline) and optional Style-Vil foamed interlining from Vlieseline, to be adapted according to the desired effect (more or less thickness).
• Closed-end zippers or zippers by the metre - metallic or nylon 6-7 mm. 1 for the central opening (with 1 or 2 sliders) and 1 for the outer pocket (with 1 slider)
• Wide webbing for the handles, shoulder straps. 25, 30 or 40 mm = 1, 1-3/8 or 1-5/8'' wide.
• 2 fastening loops and 2 sliding buckles for the back shoulder straps or 2 fastening buckles and 1 sliding adjustment buckle for the one shoulder strap (4 fastening buckles and 3 sliding buckles if you use both shoulder straps and shoulder strap), all buckles adapted in size to the width of the strap (often Ikatee use a buckle between 38 and 40 mm (1 to 1-5/8'') for a 40 mm=1-5/8" wide shoulder strap for example)
• Optional 2 hooks to make the shoulder strap removable. In this case, use 2 half-moon rather than rectangular buckles for the shoulder strap.
• 1.5 cm (5/8") wide elastic. 20 cm (8") long.
• Extra strong sewing thread or classic polyester thread that can be doubled (2 spools).
• 1 snap button
• 100 or 110 gauge machine needles
• A patchwork ruler to place the back straps at a 60° angle to the back piece.

All the bags are designed to be carried by hand, on the back or over the shoulder. They're ideal for everyday use, shopping, walking or sports. The size S bag is suitable for children from around 5 years old, but can also be a perfect shoulder bag for adults when sewn with a shoulder strap. The size M bag can carry laptops of around 13 and 14 ''. It can also be used for adults or children as a school bag. Finally, the Eugène bag in size L can carry a computer up to 15"; it's designed more for adults.
